To all our valued customers,
Our primary concern is the wellbeing of our loved ones, and that of our staff and customers, and we sincerely hope you are safe and well.
For several weeks we have been preparing our business to ensure we can continue to provide legal services during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Our business model is already built around smart working, with our technology designed to support over 200 lawyers who already work from home, reducing the need for social contact.
The information here outlines how we will continue to operate and what adjustments we are making to ensure the safety of our clients and staff.

David Middleburgh David Middleburgh
Senior Consultant Solicitor

David is a commercial lawyer who has been helping clients for over 30 years.  As well as a qualified solicitor, David is dual qualified as an insolvency practitioner (non-appointment taking) and as a solicitor advocate with rights of audience in the High Court.

David has extensive experience advising clients with complex commercial disputes and he has particular expertise in shareholder, partnership and joint venture disputes, finance litigation, fraud and asset tracing and general commercial litigation.  David’s approach to disputes is to minimise legal costs by seeking to negotiate good outcomes pre-litigation or early in the litigation process.  He has handled disputes valued in the tens of thousands up to those involving hundreds of millions of pounds.

From the mid-1990s when he qualified as an insolvency practitioner, David has assisted a wide range of clients in the insolvency and restructuring area, acting for officeholders, company and individual debtors, company directors and creditors in respect of both domestic and international insolvency matters.

David also has a great deal of experience advising clients on corporate/commercial matters including share acquisitions, business sale and purchases, shareholder agreements, franchising, website terms working with startups and SMEs.  He can fulfil a role similar to that carried out by a general counsel.

David has enjoyed working for clients across a broad range of sectors including shipping and aviation, property, media, hi-tech and internet, leisure and hospitality, insolvency practitioners, care homes and retail.

David is driven by getting to know his clients and their businesses well and his strongest qualities are tenacity and a determination to fight hard for his clients, an ability to distinguish the wood from the trees and to come up with creative innovative solutions to client's problems.  He particularly enjoys and is most effective as a negotiator.

In his spare time, David has an eclectic taste in reading, good food, cooking and indie cinema, concerts and theatre.  He enjoys playing and watching tennis and is desperate to get travelling again.  He particularly misses the ski slopes which he enjoys despite limited abilities on the piste.
