Gemma spent 10 years teaching law in further and higher education after obtaining her bachelor's degree at Leeds University and her Masters degree at Southampton University. She qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and completed the Legal Practice Course at Huddersfield University, Gemma Also obtained a Masters in Law from Leeds Metropolitan University.

Gemma's experience has been predominantly in industry as an in-house solicitor and was promoted to Legal & Administrative Operations Director in 2002.

Since qualifying Gemma has been involved in all legal aspects associated with the management of a company, including, compliance, occupational health & safety, drafting, employment, including training, recruitment, disciplinaries & appraisals, employee welfare, debt recovery, breach of contract, renewal of commercial leases, wills & probate and equity release.
