She represents individuals facing serious criminal allegations, fraud investigations, or who have lost money through financial wrongdoing, and is known for her ability to analyse complex evidence, resolve intricate problems, and provide clear, practical guidance in high-pressure situations.
She has prosecuted and advised major UK enforcement bodies, including HM Revenue & Customs, the National Crime Agency, the Metropolitan Police, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, the Economic Crime Unit, the Health and Safety Department, the Food Standards Agency and the Financial Conduct Authority. Neena's criminal practice includes working on complex and serious cases, such as large-scale tax frauds, Gross Negligence Manslaughter, Corporate Manslaughter, workplace-related deaths and health and safety offences, as well as cases investigated by specialist police units.
She provides clear guidance on defence strategy, interviews under caution and engagement with agencies including HMRC, the FCA, the NCA, the police and the Health & Safety Executive.
Civil fraud & financial crime
Her civil fraud and financial crime work includes high-value and technically demanding matters. She has acted in a £150 million HMRC-related money laundering case involving restraint and historic disclosure, defended a £200 million civil fraud claim concerning historic and highly technical allegations, and worked on a £5 million film tax fraud scheme involving multiple fictitious companies.
She regularly advises on claims involving deceit, dishonest assistance, breach of fiduciary duty, conspiracy, unjust enrichment, proprietary claims and freezing injunctions. She has represented large victim groups, including individuals connected to the Jesus Army, helping them navigate complex routes to redress.
Authorised push payment (APP) scams
Neena also assists victims of Authorised Push Payment fraud, preparing detailed submissions to banks, the Financial Ombudsman Service and law enforcement, with a strong focus on banks' duties under the Payment Services Regulations and wider anti-fraud standards.
