Sonia Ashley Consultant Solicitor

Sonia joined Setfords as a Consultant Family Law Solicitor in December 2013.

Sonia qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and has a Masters Degree in International and Commercial Law. She is also a Notary Public, Collaborative Lawyer and a Resolution Accredited Specialist in complex financial and property matters and children law disputes.

She aims to provide comprehensive practical legal advice and assistance to those facing a breakdown in their relationship. Whether the separating couple is married, engaged, in a civil partnership or simply living together as cohabitees, her specialty is resolving financial disputes concerning the division of property and assets. This includes issues surrounding the future care of the child(ren). She also has strong expertise in drafting cohabitation, pre and post-nuptial agreements and separation agreements.

As a Collaborative Lawyer her approach to the resolution of disputes is constructive, respectful and non-confrontational. The aim is to resolve family disputes in a less stressful environment and without having to attend court thereby allowing the separating couple more control of the process and the outcome.
