Laurence was born and brought up in Shropshire and after obtaining a law degree at Durham University, he attended the College of Law in Chester. After completing his training in Worcestershire, he qualified as a solicitor in 1985 and then moved to Gloucestershire where he has spent most of his working life.
Laurence has a wealth of experience in dealing with property related matters and since 2000 he has specialised in commercial property.
Throughout that time he has acted for a wide range of local, national and international clients, as well as prominent local charities.
His principal areas of expertise are in the acquisition/disposal of freehold and leasehold property, commercial leases (acting for both landlord/investor and tenant clients alike) and real estate development (including promotion/ option agreements and overage). In more recent times years he has gained experience in the renewable energy sector.
Although Laurence's practice is focused predominantly on commercial property, his extensive knowledge of all aspects of property law brings with it the widest possible toolkit for dealing with the issues which may arise in the course of any transaction. The experience which Laurence has acquired allows him to quickly discern the nature and extent of his clients’ wider interests and ensure that they remain at the forefront of the agenda in any given dealing. A meticulous passion for teasing out the detail serves as a constant reassurance to his clients that in protecting their interests no stone is left unturned.
Outside work Laurence enjoys getting outdoors whether exploring the countryside or developing the garden as a space which can be shared with the local wildlife. He also has a keen interest in music and he enjoys playing tennis.
