Christopher Sher Singh
Consultant Barrister

Highly experienced and qualified High Court Advocate with full litigation and direct access rights, with 28 years post-qualification experience, specialising in all aspects of family and matrimonial law.

Having been called to the Bar in 1993, I initially commenced my career amongst the best, alongside the former Justice Minister Andrew Mitchell QC. I am a highly experienced Barrister who has had the experience of both sides of the profession, has direct access rights and is authorised to conduct litigation. Working with a well-known Harley Street criminal firm exposed me to high-profile criminal cases, where preparing criminal defence allowed me to gain substantial experience in litigation. Many of the cases that I have worked on gained media attention, the most infamous of which was a murder trial at Winchester Crown Court following a shooting in Hartley Whitney in 1992 and I also conducted criminal defence work on the multi-handed infamous Heathrow Robberies during 2002-2004. With criminal defence work as my foundation, I have a highly analytical mind which can be applied to the most complex of cases to achieve the best result for my client.

Having hung up my Criminal law hat (for the most part!) in 2015, I now specialise in all aspects of Family and Matrimonial law. I have a wealth of experience in divorce matters, including matrimonial finances, children’s arrangements and proprietary interests. Alongside this, I have conducted work in domestic violence, occupation orders, child name change deeds, parental responsibility, child arrangements orders (including international arrangements), cohabitee rights and have a number of years of experience in dealing with Local Authorities (CAFCASS). I have invaluable experience in dealing with a number of complex and high-value divorce cases, involving trusts, corporation interests and high-value assets, and complex children’s cases. In Public Law proceedings I regularly act on behalf of parents, grandparents and guardians.

With all of this experience behind me, you can be sure that I will aim to resolve matters in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. My approach to my work will always consider your best interests, as well as the best interests of the family. With direct access and litigation rights, I am both your Solicitor and Barrister meaning you will only ever have to deal with one person for your litigation and your representation at hearings. My hourly charging rate is highly competitive, starting at £200 plus VAT. For our initial conference, I will charge a reduced fixed fee of £100.00 per hour, plus VAT. In regard to my attendance at hearings, this will largely depend on the complexity of each hearing and/or trial. The fee for this can be discussed and negotiated, and will always be at a highly competitive rate.
