Tracey O'Dwyer Senior Consultant Family Solicitor
Tracey is an experienced solicitor, qualified in 2001. She has been awarded the Advanced Accreditation in Family Law by the Law Society, which recognises the highest standard of technical expertise and client care in a specific area. Tracey’s assessed areas were complex asset cases and advice in and conduct of ancillary relief (financial cases).
Tracey joined Setfords in 2019 from a top 50 law firm, at which time she was listed in the Legal 500 where she was praised for utilising “a great combination of professionalism, knowledge and support.”
The main focus of Tracey’s practice is financial remedies work, dealing with the financial issues that arise from divorce. She is experienced in all aspects of matrimonial finances, including those involving complex issues, non-disclosure and lengthy periods of separation. She thinks laterally and creatively when finding solutions for settlement, regularly utilising forms of alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation and arbitration, to assist her clients in reaching a settlement without going to court. However, in circumstances when a case needs to be referred to the court, Tracey will take a robust approach where necessary and appropriate.
Tracey is regularly praised for her technical knowledge and realistic advice. She is very supportive of her clients whilst giving direct and honest advice. Tracey recognises the importance of a client having absolute confidence in the solicitor who is helping them through the issues they face. Tracey is responsive to contact from clients and always endeavours to deal with matters promptly and efficiently.
Tracey has acted in a number of child arrangement applications, including a reported case, and whilst this is no longer the focus of her practice, she is able to offer knowledgeable advice regarding child arrangements.
Tracey will meet clients remotely via Teams, by telephone appointment, or in person. Geographical location is not important and, as Tracey mostly works on recommendations, her clients are all over the country.
Outside of work Tracey enjoys long walks. Tracey is qualified as a swimming teacher, and was previously an open water swimmer but does not enjoy the cold these days! Tracey enjoys spending time with her family and entertaining.
