Karen qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and has always specialised in family law. Prior to her qualification, she spent several years working in the legal sector in the City of London. This provided her with a wealth of experience in various commercial and corporate environments, including insurance, publishing, catering, and finance. Having obtained a Law with German Law degree, Karen spent time studying and living in Germany and is able to assist German speaking clients.
Upon qualification, Karen joined a top 40 London law firm and worked in both their London and Oxford offices. She eventually headed up the London Family department before taking a break to start a family. Karen returned to a Tier 1 family law department in Essex in 2022 and has represented clients both in Essex, London and further afield since then.
Karen is highly regarded by her clients for her no-nonsense approach to matters and her ability to negotiate complex legal issues involving substantial assets in a wide range of family law matters.

- Financial remedies: negotiating financial settlements to cover present and future financial claims arising from the breakdown of a marriage/civil partnership; particular expertise in representing clients with significant assets, family business and/or companies, and those with large pensions and/or assets abroad
- Pre and post nuptial agreements: drafting and negotiating agreements to safeguard family wealth and inheritance
- Co-habitation issues: drafting and negotiating Co-habitation Agreements for unmarried couples and advising clients in cohabitation disputes arising from the Trust of Land & Appointment of Trustees Act 1996
- Private Children Law: assisting clients to resolve issues concerning their child(ren) such as where and with whom they will live, where they are educated, as well as cases involving allegations of harm and sexual abuse of children or where there is implacable hostility between the parents. Karen can also assist clients who wish to relocate from the UK to another country with their child(ren) or within the UK when one parent does not consent to the child being moved
- Schedule 1 claims: Karen has extensive experience assisting clients in claiming child maintenance and/or property adjustment orders for the benefit of a minor where the circumstances mean such a claim is viable
- Assisting and advising clients who attend Mediation to deal with financial and/or children issues
