Ami qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and has over 14 years of adult social care/ health experience, working for local authorities, private practice and social enterprise firms as well as NHS organisations. Ami has been a professional locum for a number of years, working around England and Wales, and has an extensive knowledge base, giving her a flexible solution-focused approach for clients from various backgrounds.
Ami has a wide-ranging experience in the spectrum of adult safeguarding and public law, specialising in Court of Protection work and the application of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983, Care Act 2014 and NHS Acts 2006. Ami is able to advise upon corporate governance matters, including complaints, and has experience working with young people in transition from children’s services as well as older adults in various settings and is able to provide a bespoke service to clients from different backgrounds.
Ami is approachable and able to offer advice and assistance on matters that are outside of court proceedings, or in pre-proceeding stages, in addition to making or responding to applications. She has a particular interest in community deprivation of liberty cases and young persons transitioning to adult services. She is passionate about achieving outcomes, helping clients improve legal literacy and implementing good practices.
