Brinder was admitted as a Solicitor in 1997 and has practiced Family Law for over 25 years. She joined Setfords in November 2021. At her previous Practice, she was a Director and Head of the Family Department where she oversaw significant growth during her period of 21 years of employment with them.
Brinder is also a Judge of The Sikh Court, appointed in April 2024. The Sikh Court is a legally binding alternative dispute resolution forum created by lawyers and Judges for resolving family and civil disputes under the Med- Arb framework.
Offering advice to all family clients, Brinder has particular expertise in financial and children issues as well as divorce, separation, cohabitation agreements, pre and post-nuptial deeds and injunctive relief. She is experienced in all aspects of Family Law and also a fluent Punjabi speaker. Brinder is a Member of Resolution and accredited by The Law Society Family Panel since 1999. Wherever possible she encourages clients to adopt a non-confrontation approach in matters concerning divorce, children and finances with the aim of alleviating additional stress at a difficult time and preserving legal costs.
Brinder is based in Birmingham but can assist and represent clients nationwide. The increase in remote working enables her to assist and represent clients from all over the country with client meetings and court hearings taking place remotely on a regular basis.
Brinder is also a practicing independant Notary Public having been admitted in 2006 and is a Member of The Notaries Society.
She is married with two children and lives in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. In her spare time, Brinder enjoys her family, fitness and hot yoga and is an active volunteer member of a local Gurdwara. She also regularly appears on Sangat TV (a Sikh television channel) to provide legal advice.
