Roger qualified as a solicitor originally in Scotland, but qualified in England and Wales in 2002.
He specialises in Residential Conveyancing acting for buyers of all types of property:
- Freehold Purchases
- Freehold Sales
- Leasehold Purchases
- Leasehold Sales
- Remortgages
Roger is very approachable and understands the concerns and stresses when buying or selling property. He believes communication is the key, and goes out of his way to keep clients and those involved in transactions fully informed on progress and what needs to be done. He always pays attention to even the smallest details of any sale or purchase and is very proactive to ensure matters proceed in accordance with clients' timescales.
In one instance, he was instructed in the purchase of a cottage located on its own in open countryside; the prospective buyers were keen to buy it as it had over 2 acres of ground. Roger investigated the location and the title deeds and discovered that the seller did not own all the ground advertised as the garden, even though it was all fenced off as part of the garden, and the seller and the Estate Agent both confirmed it was part of the sale. In the end, the seller had to buy the extra ground not included in the title and Roger ensured that his clients acquired what was advertised.
Roger has a slightly unusual background. In between being the Conveyancing Partner of a Firm in Scotland and taking up Residential Conveyancing in England and Wales, he was a 747 Captain with British Airways and flew commercially for over 30 years.
Roger is married with grown-up children and spends his spare time travelling with his wife, playing golf, and occasionally skiing.
