Charlenne qualified as a Solicitor in September 2013 and became an accredited member of the Law Society Children Panel in February 2018. She studied LLB Law at Brunel University and completed her Legal Practice course at the University of Law.
Her legal background has focused on children and family law. Charlenne represents parents, children, and other family members in court proceedings for various orders including; care orders, special guardianship orders, child arrangement orders, specific issue orders, prohibited steps orders, adoption and abduction proceedings. Charlenne also has experience of representing clients in relation to non-molestation orders, occupation orders and transfer of tenancy.
Charlenne has a wealth of experience representing vulnerable clients, including those who have been victim of abuse and those with learning difficulties, low cognitive functioning and mental health needs. Charlenne deals with cases relating to neglect, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence, substance misuse, psychological problems and mental health.
Charlenne undertakes the majority of her own advocacy.
Before joining Setfords Charlenne was a team leader at a legal 500 firm, where she would also supervise paralegals and junior solicitors.
Outside work, Charlenne enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and is kept busy by her young children. She also speaks fluent Lingala.
