Mark Turner
Senior Consultant Wills and Probate Solicitor (TEP)

Mark has practised as a solicitor in both Devon and Cornwall since 1993 and has a particular affinity for working with older clients.   It is because of this that Mark is a full accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly, having first become a member back in 2008. This is an extremely valuable group of solicitors, barristers and chartered legal executives who specialise in matters relating to the older client.

Whilst Mark has decades of experience in all the principal areas of private client work (including the administration of estates and trusts), his current focus is on the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney for the older client.  This work also includes the registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney.

Modern legal professionals need to embrace the digital world in all its guises, however Mark’s preference is to provide his clients with a traditional service and meet in person where at all possible. Mark is happy to conduct an initial short free interview on the telephone and, thereafter, can travel to the client’s own home, care home or hospital.  Due to this more traditional approach to service, Mark’s clients are largely drawn from Exeter (where he has been based since the mid-1990s) and the surrounding area.  Mark is happy to travel throughout Exeter and a 20-mile radius of the city boundaries.

By way of background, Mark studied at Exeter University, where he gained an LLB Honours degree in Law. After qualifying as a solicitor in 1993, Mark also went on to attain full membership of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in 2004. STEP is a worldwide body comprising professionals who specialise in the field of Trusts and Estates. Membership was gained through four separate exams taken over two years.  He is also a full accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly as mentioned above.

As a full member of STEP, Mark complies with the STEP Code for Will Preparation in England & Wales.  The Code is a set of ethical principles that operate for the benefit of clients and demonstrate openly the commitment of STEP members to transparency and client service. The Code can be viewed by clicking on this link – https://www.step.org/public/step-will-code
