Deborah initially embarked upon a career in finance before studying law. She retained a keen interest in mathematical quantity and structure which in turn led to her enthusiasm in legal costs. She prides herself upon accuracy and attention to detail.
She is a highly experienced law costs draftsman of some 30 years, 17 of which were spent in large practices in the North East and for the last 13 years as owner of Chollerton Legal Services. Her practice continues to run alongside matters referred through Setfords.
Deborah has a wealth of experience in all costs matters including complex and high-value personal injury, clinical negligence, professional negligence, commercial disputes, contentious probate, Court of Protection, crime, employment and housing.
Her costs services include drafting of Costs Budgets and subsequent Case Management work, drafting Bills of Costs for Detailed Assessment, attending Case Management Conferences and Detailed Assessment Hearings and negotiating costs settlements.
In her spare time, Deborah sits on School Admission Appeal Panels for a number of Local Authorities and is an Associate Governor for a First School. She is also studying Classical Greek.
