Julia Lappage Consultant Private Client

Julia is an experienced solicitor with over 20 years private client experience.  Julia qualified as a solicitor in 1991, starting her legal career working in a general practice. 

By working in a general practice Julia gained a wealth of knowledge and experience to use to both fully understand clients needs and advise them as to how to best achieve their aims when drafting Wills and giving inheritance tax planning advice.  

After a short career break she returned to work part time with her partner and they successfully ran their own practice in Guildford, with Julia’s focus being private client work.   They only recently decided to close the practice to achieve a better work life balance enabling the focus to be on clients without the time consuming administration involved in running a small law firm.   

Julia has experience advising clients from straightforward estates to the more complex.  When dealing with Probate matters Julia has extensive knowledge of dealing with estates of all sizes both with a Will and intestacy matters and will advise on claiming the transfer of the nil rate band, residence nil rate band and where inheritance tax is payable advising in respect of the instalment option where applicable. 

Expertise includes:

• Wills including inheritance tax planning 
• Probate - dealing with all aspects of administration, to include completing all HMRC inheritance tax forms, applying for Probate, collecting in assets, estate accounts and distributing the estate to beneficiaries. 
• LPA’s advising and drafting Financial & Health & Welfare, to include application to the Office of Public Guardian to register

Julia prides herself in giving clients a personal service explaining Wills, Probate administration and LPA’s in clear language that clients can understand to ensure their needs are addressed and met.    Julia is happy to do home visits or online meetings.
