Our primary concern is the wellbeing of our loved ones, and that of our staff and customers, and we sincerely hope you are safe and well.
For several weeks we have been preparing our business to ensure we can continue to provide legal services during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Our business model is already built around smart working, with our technology designed to support over 200 lawyers who already work from home, reducing the need for social contact.
The information here outlines how we will continue to operate and what adjustments we are making to ensure the safety of our clients and staff.

Kiran Dhaliwal Kiran Dhaliwal
Consultant Chartered Legal Executive

Specialist in divorce, separation disputes regarding children, finances for married and unmarried couples and domestic abuse.

Serving Birmingham and Surrounding Areas:

Kiran is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives/ Family Lawyer. She has over 20 years’ experience in family law. She works in Sutton Coldfield, helping clients in the Birmingham and surrounding areas.

Kiran chose to work in this area of law as she wanted to help client’s re-build their lives. She says that often clients will see you at the start of their case when they are almost like a broken jigsaw, but with the clear advice and the guidance of their lawyer, they start to slowly put the pieces back together.

She believes that one must only appoint a lawyer whom they feel comfortable with. You must be at ease and be able to ask any question without having hesitation. Going through a relationship breakdown is an awful time. One’s whole world can turn upside down, and it is a heart-breaking process. It can be much harder when there are children involved.

Clients contact Kiran at a difficult point in their life, where they need clear transparent advice from an understanding lawyer. Kiran is committed to making the process as easy as possible for the client, knowing that they are going through a stressful and emotional time.

Kiran can provide a bespoke service which is tailored to a client’s needs and she can work around their other commitments. She offers a very personal legal service and provides flexibility with her appointments, rather than the traditional 9-5 office hours. She also offers a free half-hour initial consultation by telephone.

Kiran specialises in the following areas:

  • Divorce and Separation
  • Financial advice and settlement following divorce/separation
  • Cohabitation matters
  • Living Together Agreements
  • Children matters – disputes regarding where a child should live and disputes regarding what contact they should have with the non-resident parent.
  • Removal of a Child from the Jurisdiction for a holiday, Permanent Relocation of a child within the UK or abroad
  • Children applications concerning the change of child’s surname, religion, school, immunisations.
  • Domestic Abuse and injunctions
  • Change of Name
  • Civil Partnerships

Over the years, Kiran has had significant involvement with organisations such as Victim Support, Women’s Aid and the local women’s refuges. She was also on the committee for Domestic Violence with Dudley City Council before changing practices.

Kiran has featured on a National Television Programme talking about relationship breakdown, children matters and domestic abuse and the effect of this on a family. She spoke about the civil remedies available and has also featured in a DVD that Victim Support prepared about what resources are available to persons who are at risk of domestic abuse.

Kiran is strongly dedicated to all her client’s and each case is significant to her because she strives to try and achieve the best possible outcome by providing transparent and honest advice while providing clients with compassion.

She is a fluent speaker of Punjabi. She understands Hindi and Urdu, and this puts those clients at ease who want to be able to communicate in their mother tongue language without the need for an interpreter.

Kiran is a Member of Resolution; this is a Family Lawyers Organisation whose Code of Conduct is to deal with family cases in a constructive and non-confrontational way.
