Rebecca Grainger Consultant Solicitor
Rebecca is a solicitor specialising in residential and commercial property, with nearly a decade of experience in practice. She graduated from Northumbria University in 2014 with a First Class Masters Degree in Law before undertaking a scholarship in Singapore, where she gained international legal experience working for a small law firm. Upon returning to the UK, she completed her training contract at a North Yorkshire firm and qualified as a solicitor in September 2017. Since then, Rebecca has built a strong practice managing a varied and substantial caseload across both residential and commercial property matters.
She works closely with her colleague Carey Smith, with whom she has a long-standing professional and personal relationship, offering clients a comprehensive and consistent service across property and private client matters.

Approach to work and clients
Rebecca takes a client-focused, personable approach to her work, recognising that property transactions are significant life events that can often feel daunting. She prioritises clear, honest communication and takes time to understand each client's circumstances, building strong relationships and ensuring they feel confident and supported throughout the process.
With a genuine passion for her work, Rebecca approaches each matter with care and attention to detail, enjoying the analytical challenge of bringing all elements of a transaction together. She particularly enjoys the analytical aspects of conveyancing and takes pride in reviewing documentation, raising enquiries, and guiding clients through to completion in a clear and accessible way.
Her experience includes acting for developers on land acquisitions and subsequent plot sales, successfully managing matters through to the final completion of developments. She has also handled complex lease variation matters requiring detailed negotiation between leaseholders and freeholders, achieving positive outcomes for her clients.
Outside of work
Outside of her legal practice, Rebecca is an active member of Scarborough Law Society, where she participates in and helps organise events that promote legal services within the local community. She leads a busy family life with her two daughters and enjoys baking, crafting and creative activities. In her spare time, she maintains an active lifestyle, including running, swimming and working out, as well as more adventurous pursuits that she enjoys with Carey, such as rock climbing, paddleboarding and wild saunas. She also enjoys spending time outdoors, whether walking her dog in the countryside or watching sunrises and sunsets by the coast.
