Terry Chetwood Senior Consultant Solicitor

Terry qualified as a Solicitor in 1977 and has over 40 years of experience, specialising in Family Law and Dispute Resolution.  He was a director and head of family, commercial and dispute resolution in a well known Exeter Law firm.  He joined Setfords in 2022.

Terry advises private clients and helps them resolve and come to terms with both the financial and emotional impact of divorce.  He specialises in cases which require expertise in the resolution of complex issues, including family businesses, pensions, farms and inheritance/pre-owned assets and wealth. Terry also regularly assists businesses with partnership agreements and shareholder agreements rent reviews business sales and other commercial matters

He also represents unmarried clients who are separating to resolve their property and business disputes.  He advises clients regarding cohabitation, separation, and pre-nuptial agreements. Terry also deals with other aspects of family matters including Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.  He represents clients regarding Inheritance, Probate and Trust disputes.

He provides advice in a concise and understandable way in plain English.

Outside of work, Terry enjoys travel (especially Italy), photography, cooking, and racketball.
