Jodi Halkier Consultant Residential & Commercial Property Lawyer (RFL)

Jodi was originally educated in the Republic of South Africa (RSA), having been admitted as an Attorney of the High Court (RSA) in May 1999 and a Conveyancer of the High Court (RSA) in January 2005.

In 2011 she left South Africa for Mallorca Spain where she and her family lived until her daughter completed her A levels, at which stage the whole family joined Jodi (who left the island earlier to set up home in England) in October 2016.

Jodi began studying for her QLTS (conversion course for lawyers educated abroad) in 2015, and has written the majority of the examinations and is to complete the last one at the end of this year, subject to COVID 19 restrictions. She is currently registered to practice under the Solicitors Regulation Authority, which she is very proud of.

She has spent 5 years in conveyancing practice in the United Kingdom and has enjoyed it thoroughly. “The legislature between the two countries is very similar; however, the practice as regards Conveyancing is very different. I love researching old title deeds and the history that come with these beautiful old English homes.”

Jodi has vast experience in many aspects of Residential and Commercial property transactions. No task is too big or small, and if it involves a little additional research, then Jodi is happy to do so. Her experience includes: - Residential sales and purchases (freehold and leasehold), Re-mortgaging, Right to Buy transactions, help to buy transactions, New Build sale and purchases; auction sales, Transfer of equity transaction; drafting of the declaration of Trusts, statutory declarations, attending to update title deeds, e.g. remove or add a restrictive covenant, remove or add a person to the Proprietorship register, assisting those not on the title but with beneficial interests in the home, Lease extensions, (Statutory and informal route), sale and purchase of Freehold properties subject to leaseholds, Commercial acquisitions of property, acting for Landlords and tenants in Commercial property leases and much more.

She has been in practice for over 20 years, and along with her legal expertise and experience as well as the fact she also holds a degree in Psychology, she is able to empathise with clients, whilst simultaneously acting in their best interests to obtain the result they want. 

Jodi has a reputation for a fabulous work ethic and is well known for going the extra mile to get things done. Her mantra is  “everything in life is solvable, it may take a bit of time, but there is always a solution”.
