Called to the Bar in 2010, Rebecca has over 14 years' experience as a London-based barrister specialising in white collar crime and investigations, including contentious regulatory matters, risk, compliance and ESG considerations. Rebecca has previously been employed by top-ranking US law firms and leading global investment banks.
Holding a first class degree in Law from the University of Cambridge, Rebecca approaches her legal work with academic rigour and precision. Crucially, Rebecca is able to combine this with a keen understanding of business needs and a people-centred approach. She has particular expertise in wellbeing and psychological safety in the context of legal proceedings, with a focus on trauma-informed witness handling and sensitive investigations.
Examples of Rebecca's legal work includes:
- Advising in relation to sensitive investigations and legal proceedings, including wellbeing considerations and trauma-informed approaches;
- Reviewing, drafting and advising in relation to financial crime policies and procedures;
- Advising in relation to sanctions, money laundering, bribery and corruption;
- Conducting financial crime risk assessments;
- Advising in relation to contractual clauses / corporate due diligence relating to financial crime and dispute resolution;
- Representing individuals and businesses in relation to criminal and regulatory investigations; and
- Advising in relation to ESG considerations, including in respect of supply chain due diligence.
Notable experience includes:
- Representing individuals and businesses in relation to civil and criminal investigations in multiple jurisdictions, including in the context of cooperation with law enforcement agencies, cross-jurisdictional criminal issues and related employment law and regulatory issues;
- Advising a governmental agency regarding a high profile dispute due to alleged fraud by the counterparties; and
- Acting for a well-known international bank in relation to global regulatory investigations into setting of the LIBOR/EURIBOR benchmarks, reaching settlements with multiple regulators including in the UK, US, Japan and the Netherlands.

Rebecca is proud to be leading conversations and practice around trauma-informed law and, in addition to her legal work, runs a coaching and consultancy practice. She has significant experience supporting individuals and businesses affected by domestic abuse and has a strong commitment to wellbeing. She co-founded a prison project using sport to address gang-related violence and spent time working with the Independent Jamaican Council for Human Rights. Having recently swapped London for rural Scotland, Rebecca enjoys experimenting with growing heritage vegetables and spending quality time with an array of rescued animal companions.
