Caroline has specialised in licensing and entertainment law since qualifying in 1996. She acts for a wide range of clients from multi site national operators to one off venues, advising on a wide range of licensing issues. She spent several years at a top 20 City law firm before heading up a highly respected licensing team on the south coast. Most recently she was a member of a highly regarded team working mainly with household name supermarket and department store operators.
Areas of expertise include obtaining new premises licences, variations of licences, highways (tables and chairs) licensing, wedding venues, temporary events and due diligence. She provides bespoke advice in a fast changing sector where operators are always looking for innovative ways to stay ahead of the competition.
Caroline has advised a number of household name restaurant operators on major expansion projects and new site acquisitions, carrying out licensing due diligence and most importantly, ensuring that premises have all the right licensing permissions in place before they open to the public. She understands the commercial needs of clients and provides pragmatic and timely solutions in language they understand.
Caroline was noted as "quick, accurate and helpful" in the Legal 500 2014 and was listed in the Elite Leading Lawyers list in the same year.
