Sherma is a family lawyer with over 6 year’s experience, with expertise in matters relating to children, including Child Arrangements Order (including where there are issues relating to parental alienation), Specific Issue and Prohibited Steps Orders, leave to remove applications, and Special Guardianship applications. She has a specialist interest in international children matters which includes successfully representing a Father in the Court of Appeal in respect of Child Abduction proceedings (M (A Child)  EWCA Civ 1131) and representing a Father in complex Wardship proceedings (A, B, C and F (Children)  EWHC 3663 (Fam).
Sherma's expertise in Child Abduction/Wardship and Private Children matters has resulted in her being advanced accredited by the Law Society in respect of these areas.
Having worked in Legal Aid in Legal 500 listed practices prior to joining Setfords London, Sherma has experience in matters relating to Social Services including Section 47 investigations, Child In Need and Child Protection Plans/Conferences, public law proceedings, and adoption. Her experience also extends to Injunctive proceedings where there have been incidents of violence within the home, matters relating to the end of a relationship and the financial implications of the same.
