Approach to work and clients
Adam approaches every matter with the understanding that behind each case is a family navigating something deeply personal, often during a period of vulnerability or significant change. He prides himself on being responsive, pragmatic and solutions-driven, explaining complex issues in clear, accessible language, setting realistic expectations from the outset and progressing matters efficiently. As a consultant solicitor, he focuses on building long-term, trusted relationships rather than taking a purely transactional approach. This ensures clients feel confident their affairs are handled carefully, professionally and with complete discretion.
He particularly enjoys the strategic aspects of Private Client and Court of Protection work, where technical knowledge meets meaningful real-world impact. He takes pride in navigating complex estates, capacity issues and sensitive family dynamics, whether structuring a complex Will, guiding Deputies through their responsibilities, or addressing challenging decisions within the Court of Protection. He combines strong technical expertise with emotional intelligence, and recognises that attention to detail and an empathetic approach are equally important. Ultimately, his greatest satisfaction comes from earning his clients' trust and ensuring they feel informed, reassured and supported throughout.
Notable matters:
- Advising on and drafting bespoke Wills for high-net-worth families with UK and overseas assets, including business interests and trusts designed for asset protection and tax efficiency.
- Acting in complex estate administrations involving business and agricultural assets, coordinating valuations, tax reporting and negotiations with HMRC to secure efficient clearance.
- Advising Attorneys and Deputies on high-value financial decisions under Lasting Powers of Attorney, including Statutory Will applications and gifting strategies requiring Court approval.
- Successfully rectifying defective Wills and securing grants in estates where original documents were lost or informal, ensuring the deceased’s intended wishes were preserved and avoiding the application of the rules of intestacy.
- Preparing complex discretionary and life interest trust Wills involving overseas elements and strategic inheritance tax planning.
Adam is a qualified Lifetime Lawyer, demonstrating his commitment to the highest standards of client care and expertise in private client practice, particularly for elderly and vulnerable clients. He is also currently undertaking the STEP qualification with the aim of achieving full TEP status, further reinforcing his dedication to technical excellence and ongoing professional development.
Outside of his legal practice, Adam has a longstanding interest in sport, which reflects his level of discipline and provides valuable opportunities to build authentic professional relationships. Many of his connections have developed organically through sporting and networking circles.
