James is a dual-qualified solicitor, qualifying in England in 2008 and the Republic of Ireland in 2018.

His background is in litigation, assisting with drafting letters of claim and providing legal advice in a wide range of areas.

• An award of provisional damages of £75,000 for a road accident in 1985, where the claimant developed further symptoms later in life

Outside of work, James enjoys cycling and has previously raised money for Cancer Research and the building of a sensory room for children with disabilities in a local hospital. He has cycled abroad and completed a 240km coast-to-coast trip in the UK from Whitehaven to Whitby.
