Setfords Solicitors’ innovative way of working, which places flexibility and freedom at the heart of its model, has been recognised with the ‘Award for Wellbeing’ at this year’s Lexis Nexis Legal Awards. This latest award for the consultant-model firm cements its position as a trailblazer in legal services innovation, delivering outstanding services and support for lawyers and clients alike.
Setfords was founded on a simple premise: that happier lawyers mean happier clients. This vision translates into an award-winning firm that puts the wellbeing of its lawyers at its heart, in order to deliver superior service for its clients.
This latest award follows three nominations for ‘Law Firm of the Year‘ in the past 12 months, including recognition in this category by LexisNexis, and marks another year of growth for the nationwide, consultant-led firm. Having attracted a further 70 consultants in 2017, Setfords doubled the size of its Chancery Lane offices and has been recognised for its model in numerous sector awards.
Redesigning what it means to be a lawyer
Setfords’ success is built on its consultant-led structure, which has turned the traditional way of legal working on its head, with its flexible, technology-driven model giving lawyers the freedom to control their own work-life balance. With remote-working, free from the burden of billing targets, Setfords consultants are able to dedicate more time to families, relationships and wider pursuits. Dedicated support from Setfords’ award-winning central team, enables its consultants to take control of their own careers, designing a way of working that suits their lifestyles.
Receiving the award, co-CEO Guy Setford said: “This latest accolade is testament to the real, positive difference our model is making to lawyers’ lives. For too long legal practice has been mired in archaic ways of working that don’t deliver for client, or lawyer. We set about to change that, focusing on building a firm that would help talented, dedicated lawyers flourish. Our approach has always been on ensuring lawyers are supported to succeed, and wellbeing is the cornerstone of that ethos.”
Co-CEO Chris Setford added: “It’s our mission to continually innovate in order to meet the needs of lawyers and clients alike. This award gives us cause to celebrate and reflect – but we won’t be resting on our laurels. We will continue to seek ways of making lawyers’ lives easier, with wellbeing, support and freedom at the heart of all we do.”
