Setfords London has doubled the size of its Chancery Lane office as it continues to expand, with a number of new high-profile lawyers joining the firm.
Part of consultant-led Setfords Solicitors, Setfords London focuses primarily on London and international clients and has now taken up a second floor at 46 Chancery Lane.
The new development features 14 and 10-person board rooms with full digital capabilities, a reception area, and entertainment facilities – which include an executive lounge. It complements the existing facilities which include private offices, further meeting spaces and more than 20 hot desks.
The expansion comes less than a year after Setfords took investment of £3.75 million from British Growth Fund.
High-profile lawyers widen Setfords London offering
New lawyers joining Setfords London as consultants in recent weeks include Dean Armstrong QC, a top-rated barrister and expert in criminal advocacy and cyber law.
Mr Armstrong has represented clients in number of high-profile cases including R v Tabak (the murder of Joanna Yeates), R v Darwin (the wife of the canoeist who faked his own death); R v Asil Nadir, the case relating to the criminal investigation surrounding the News of the World newspaper, and the Cash for Honours and Leveson enquiries.
Mr Armstrong, who is ranked as a leader in his field in the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners directories, is also the co-author of the first comprehensive textbook on cyber-risk and data protection.
Setfords London’s commercial team has also expanded with the arrival of Mark Archer and Joss Alcraft. Both are joining from the international corporate department at Burlingtons, where they were partners.
Mr Archer and Mr Alcraft both have experience offering expertise to private equity houses, AIM nomads and brokers, large corporates, financial institutions and high-net worth entrepreneurs.
Other new hires include leading litigator and advocate John Davis, the first solicitor in legal history to be presented with a “red bag” from Queen’s Counsel because of his exceptional legal work.
