Sonia is a Solicitor specialising in the recovery of Credit Hire Charges. She has worked in the Credit Hire industry since 2001 working with numerous credit hire organisations.

Sonia joined Setfords as a Consultant Solicitor in February 2017 after spending the last 10 years working for ‘traditional’ law firms.

Sonia started out her career in the Credit Hire Industry in 2001. Shortly after completing a law degree with Wolverhampton University Sonia started working as a Recovery Claims Handler with a credit hire company in Blackpool, progressing to a Litigation Claims Handler working with panel solicitors. Whilst working she completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Central Lancashire. After completing the LPC she obtained a training contract qualifying as a solicitor in 2008.

After qualifying as a Solicitor Sonia began working with a firm of Solicitors in Liverpool, progressing shortly thereafter to Head of Department, responsible for running a team of people specialising in the recovery of Credit Hire Charges by litigation. Since then Sonia has relocated to the Lake District establishing a successful Credit Hire Litigation Department within an established firm of Solicitors, where she worked for nearly 7 years.

Sonia prides herself on offering a nationwide tailor made recovery service to suit the individual requirements of the credit hire organisation at competitive rates.

“Sonia brings with her a wealth of real world litigation experience. I had the pleasure of working alongside her in Scott Rees and found her a resource of information on spot hire, credit hire and litigation. We worked together on enforcement of hire charges and were peripherally involved in two test cases in the market. I heartily recommend Sonia to anyone requiring her area of knowledge.” RB – October 2010
