Roger is a very experienced and award-winning commercial lawyer. He has worked for a number of private practice firms, has been a partner in private practice, and has also worked as an in-house lawyer in both the public and private sectors during his career.
Roger’s expertise lies in the following areas:
Commercial Property – commercial developments (shopping centres, offices, industrial and joint ventures), commercial leases (advising both landlords and tenants), acquisitions and disposals (including property in the course of construction) and general property management matters.
Construction – building contracts (advising both employers and contractors), appointments of professional teams and collateral warranties.
Environmental - apportionment of environmental liability in contracts.
Commercial contracts – all types, but especially for the energy sector (see below).
Roger concentrates on providing services to the public sector and to the following industries:
- Property management, investment and development.
- Construction
- Nuclear installations and radioactive waste
- Renewable energy
Roger is a member of the liabilities sub-group of the Legal and Financial Affairs Working Group of the Nuclear Industries Association, a learned fellow of the Nuclear Institute, and a director of the UK branch of the International Nuclear Law Association.
Outside of work, Roger enjoys football and cricket (although his playing days are almost over), walking and cooking, and he even appears on stage from time to time.
