Martin specialises in international finance and acts for a variety of market-leading financial institutions, sponsors and corporate borrowers. He has worked on numerous substantial and complex finance transactions in many different jurisdictions spanning the globe.
Martin has over 20 years broad-based finance experience with a bias towards Islamic finance and real estate finance which have been at the core of his practice for the past decade.
In addition, Martin has deep and varied experience in project financing, leveraged and acquisition finance, debt capital markets, cross-border syndicated financings and asset finance.
Martin moved to Qatar with Dentons in 2008 prior to which he had spent over a decade working in the Banking & Finance practices of Ashurst and White & Case. He joined the London office of Dentons as a partner in 2007 and in 2008 moved to Doha to head up the Banking & Finance practice and also became co-head of Dentons’ regional Banking & Finance team. In 2013 he was approached by Addleshaw Goddard and moved to help them establish their Doha office of which he was head until he returned to the UK in 2018.
