What is a compromise agreement?
A compromise agreement (now known as a settlement agreement) is a formal document that both the employer and employee will sign where the terms of an employee’s exit from the business have been agreed. It is a legal requirement that you receive independent legal advice on the agreement, and your employer will normally make a contribution to the cost of this legal advice.
