Guildford United is gearing up for an exciting future after securing a new sponsorship deal with Setfords Solicitors.
Setfords will be the football club’s main sponsor starting in the 2017/18 season.
Guildford United have been running for 11 years – working up from the bottom divisions in the Guildford and Woking Alliance League to currently playing in Division 1 of the Surrey County Intermediate League.
Guildford United team manager and club co-founder Colin Deans said “This sponsorship agreement with Setfords Solicitors is great for our club. For a few years now we have been working hard on giving this football club a long term future, many clubs like ours last a few years then fold. This sponsorship goes a long way to helping us succeed with our goal of being around for many years to come”.
The announcement follows news that Guildford United have agreed to a trial partnership with Guildford Saints Youth football club, providing a route for young players to transition from youth to senior football.
Setfords co-CEO Chris Setford said: “We are delighted to support this progressive football club in the local community, a club with great passion and desire to progress through the regional football leagues. The club is run by people who have a true love for the club and the sport and we look forward to supporting them to fulfil their ambitions over the coming years.”
Setfords will have their logos and name on the club’s home kit and have a banner at home games. Setfords conveyancer Red Flanagan-Brown has become chairman.
Red said: “I am terrifically excited about working with Guildford United. We all have great expectations for the team and I can’t wait to get started.”
