Joanne qualified in 2002 with Devonshires and continuously worked in London until January 2012 for Boodle Hatfield, Nabarro, local authority and more recently in-house.
Joanne provides specialist advice on all forms of construction and solar energy contracts. In particular, she can advise all parties with the need for, benefit and risks of:
- construction documents such as building contracts, EPC contracts, warranties/third party rights, O&M contracts, performance bonds, parent company guarantees, advance payment bonds, retention bonds, novation deeds, letters of intent and assignment deeds;
- construction obligations in funding agreements and tenders;
- commercial contracts such as standard terms and sale and purchase agreements; and
- procurement issues.
Joanne can assist with the negotiation and completion of commercial contracts.
Joanne is also an experienced Professional Support Lawyer and her skills could be used in areas such as:
- precedents: reviewing, amending and updating etc;
- training: identification of training needs, arranging and providing training;
- post transaction reviews;
- standard boilerplate clauses; and
- capture of know-how i.e. stop the "has anyone got a good clause for XYZ" emails.
Whilst not reading contracts, Joanne enjoys cultivating her vegetable plot and taming a wild garden, restoring a neglected Victorian house and the beach. Joanne is also a member of the PTA and helps out at school. Joanne, her husband and two children moved to West Cornwall 4 years ago.
