Ian Joined Setfords in November 2011 as a Consultant Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution department.
Prior to joining Setfords, Ian trained and practised for five years in Birmingham city centre, before moving to the East Midlands where he developed a strong specialism in Property Litigation.
Ian regularly gives seminars on a range of topics, he has spoken at the RICS Professional Development Conference at Loughborough University, and delivered a series of presentations to surveyors and clients on various reforms and current topics

Property Litigation - advising on a range of issues relating to the ownership, use and occupation of land.
Commercial Landlord and Tenant - advising commercial landlords and tenants on all aspects of dispute resolution relating to leasehold premises.
Retail - acting for High Street outlets in a variety of sectors offering specialist advice on occupation as tenants and portfolio management.
Residential Landlord and Tenant - acting for housing associations, local authorities and private sector landlords.
Commercial Litigation - advising small businesses to plc clients in all areas of contract and tort. Ian has conducted actions in the County Court, the High Court – QBD, Chancery Division and the TCC, and in the Court of Appeal.
Alternative Dispute Resolution - Ian has considerable experience of various methods of ADR including mediation, arbitration and PACT.
Public Law - acting for local authorities and private clients in relation to Public Enquiries, Judicial Review, High Court Appeals and other statutory challenges to public law decisions.
Estates, Trusts and Contested Probate - advising on disputed estates and administrations, rectification of wills and claims under the IPFDA.
- Underground Damage - pursuing claims for underground damage to utility apparatus in the water, electricity and telecommunications sectors.
